Odiwams’ debut solo exhibition curated by Robert Leroy Hodge displayed 2/19/23 thru 3/5/23 at Flatland Gallery. This exhibition serves as the transformative marker in Odiwams’ career. The images were captured in May 21’ in Tulsa, OK in observance of The Centennial Remembrance of the Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921. 22 images of 333 edited image trimmed from 3000 images capture over a span of 3 days. Only given the instructions of “shooting what Odi sees'“ by Marlon Hall, Social Media Coordinator for the Greenwood Art Project, Odi would in the process of capturing this historical moment find the artist within himself. The purpose of this exhibition is to continue the conversation of this horrific American history almost swept away with whitewashing. As well, showcase the awesomeness, the beauty, the “Resilience” of black people through his lens.
